CVNY members participated in a half-day session focused on Job Purposing and Change Management from Bea Boccalandro, Founder and President of VeraWorks and Wendy Swire, Principal, Swire Solutions, LLC.
Job Purposing
Bea Boccalandro is founder and president of VeraWorks, a global consulting firm that helps managers and companies offer employees the opportunity to do societal good through their everyday jobs, including through volunteering. “Job purposing,” as this management practice is called, heightens employee engagement, performance and well-being. She is also author of the Job Purposing blog, teaches corporate community involvement at Georgetown University and is a frequent keynote speaker on the role of community involvement in everyday corporate jobs.
Change Management
Wendy Swire is the founding principal of Swire Solutions, a leadership consulting firm based in the Washington, DC area for over 20 years with a focus on executive coaching, training, facilitation and conflict resolution. A partial list of her clients includes: Capital One, Federal Reserve Board, Hilton International, Credit Suisse, LeClair Ryan, Biotechnology Industry Association, Executive Office of the President, Deltek, US Agency for International Development/ State Department, Well Fargo and the US Department of Energy.
