April 2017: Effective Grantee Measurement
Measurement is one of the most important, time consuming and constantly evolving areas of the CSR space. From a CSR perspective it can be difficult to objectively compare grantees and understand why one might be performing better than another. Nonprofits are often asked to spend an increased amount of time to provide different pieces of measurement data to different funders of the same program.
Technology, such as Mission Measurement’s Impact Genome Project, is starting to be used to help funders and grantees standardize, measure and forecast social outcomes and share this information to guide future funding decisions.
CVNY members participated in a discussion with Sophie Walker from Mission Measurement and Bryn Canner from Virtual Enterprise to discuss measurement successes and challenges from a funder and grantee perspective and how technology and collaboration can help increase measurement quality while reducing time spent doing it.
